Little steps maybe but some welcome progress this week to address the eternal Oxford condundrum : why oh why in a city of tourism-heaven and academic & medical global excellence, is there no hotel or conference centre with more than 300 rooms?

Amaris' £5.7 million investment to increase the Jury's Inn hotel to 240 rooms is good news for Oxford and will maybe herald further investment for not only hotel expansion but maybe the long-awaited and much needed hotel and conference facilities enjoyed by other major business hubs such as Manchester and Birmingham.
