A 30-year history of the future – TEDx Oxford sponsored by Hedges

Dispute Resolution - 1 minute read

The latest talk in our series of our favourite TED Talks in the lead up to TEDx Oxford was given by Nicholas Negroponte.  He is a futurologist (what a great job title) who has been predicting what the future of technology holds in the coming years.  Going back over his predictions from previous TED Talks he shows the startling accuracy of his predictions and gives an intriguing insight into what will happen in the next 30 years.

Hedges are sponsoring TEDx Oxford 2017 which will bring together 12 speakers, including CEOs, entrepreneurs, professors, psychologists, writers, students, innovators and technologists to share their ideas on “X Changes Everything”.

TEDx Oxford is on 5 February 2017 at the New Theatre Oxford starting at 10.30am. Tickets are on sale now at http://tedxoxford.co.uk/get-tickets/.  If you want to give up a lazy Sunday to listen in awe, watch with wonder, learn new things and be truly inspired book soon, tickets are selling out fast!

MIT Media Lab founder Nicholas Negroponte takes you on a journey through the last 30 years of tech. The consummate predictor highlights interfaces and innovations he foresaw in the 1970s and 1980s that were scoffed at then but are ubiquitous today. And he leaves you with one last (absurd? brilliant?) prediction for the coming 30 years.
